Customers will benefit from one-stop-shop compliance and recycling solutions across Europe
Mainz/Paris, June 27, 2014. The Landbell Group, one of Germany’s leading packaging compliance schemes, and the European Recycling Platform (ERP) today announced that the Landbell Group will become a shareholder of ERP. Currently, ERP offers recycling and compliance services for WEEE, batteries and packaging for its more than 2,500 members in 32 countries across the globe.
The companies join forces to create a unique high quality, one-stop-shop compliance and recycling service enabling customers to comply with various legal regulations worldwide.
“For Landbell Group this acquisition is an important step in our ongoing pursuit to provide comprehensive and quality recycling solutions to both existing and new customers in Europe”, says Jan Patrick Schulz, CEO of Landbell Group. “With its best-in-class, scalable cross-border compliance and recycling solutions ERP is the ideal partner for us.”
“Today marks a key milestone in the lifetime of ERP”, says Umberto Raiteri, CEO of the European Recycling Platform. “We should be very proud of all our achievements to date and with the Landbell Group we will have a shareholder that is committed to investing both strategically and financially in the global growth of the company.”
ERP was set up in December 2002 by its founders – HP, Electrolux, Sony and Procter & Gamble – in response to the introduction of the European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.
„We have achieved our mission to develop high-quality, cost-effective recycling services and to bring competition to WEEE and battery recycling in Europe”, says a representative of the founders of ERP. “As minority shareholders and customers of ERP we will continue to support the Landbell Group to establish ERP as a leading provider of waste management solutions across Europe and beyond.”
ERP will maintain its own brand identity and all employees will remain within the organisation. Together, Landbell Group and ERP are in a position to offer their customers innovative and comprehensive compliance services at competitive prices, thus enabling them to focus on their core business. They will also benefit from the additional services and experience brought by Landbell Group in the take-back and recycling of additional waste streams.
